Performance Evidence
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit, including evidence of the ability to:
service and maintain pumps one at least two occasions, including:carrying out prestart, start-up, park-up and shutdown proceduresoperating equipment controls, monitoring gauges and systems conducting safety checksidentifying, addressing and reporting potential hazards and riskscontrolling identified hazards identifying, addressing and reporting environmental issuespreparing written records and reportsundertaking inspections and fault findingapplying site and manufacturer specifications and procedures for servicing and maintenance of pumpsoperating equipment within specified limitations and capabilities.During the above, the candidate must: locate and apply relevant documentation, policies and procedures and confirm that the work activity is compliantimplement the requirements, procedures and techniques for servicing and maintaining pumpswork effectively with others to service and maintain pumps in a way that meets all required outcomescommunicate clearly and concisely with others to receive and clarify work instructions and to determine coordination requirements prior to commencing and during work activities.
